Meet Your Neighbors – Janet and Angela

Janet Crawford and Angelina Haney met in February after Janet requested a LiLY volunteer to go birding with her. Janet has been teaching Angelina how to identify birds by specific markers and sounds, but more than identification, she says birding is about getting to know the birds through their behavior, habitat, what they’re communicating and more. Angelina went from never thinking about birds to being completely obsessed, looking and listening for them everywhere, which Janet takes full responsibility for. They make an amazing team. Janet calls Angelina her “eyes
and ears” helping her spot birds and take pictures of them.
