Last month’s weather makes January, so far, seem as if spring is around the corner. But, there are many forecasted days this month for invigorating winter walks. One interesting place to walk is alongthe paths and sidewalks at City College, located on the blocks of Convent Ave. between W. 135th Streetand W. 138thSreet. The walkways are in excellent condition. And, the Neo-Gothic architecture takes us back to a time(1905 – 1930) when builders reverted to the styles of the 1740s in England. The college was the first free public college in the U.S. Colin Powell, Ed Koch, Woody Allen, Barbara Steisand, Adam Clayton Powell Jr., Luis Gusmán, Edward G. Robinson, Butterfly Queen, Henry Kissinger, & Tony Curtis are just some of its celeb alumni.
